1. ANTICHRIST ON ITS WAY TO THE CROISETTE

    von Trier’s 10th Cannes

    Lars von TrierLars von Trier’s ANTICHRIST has been officially selected in competition at the upcoming Cannes Film Festival (13. May – 24. May). This marks his 10th invitation to Cannes for Lars von Trier, following his Palme d’Or winner Dancer in the Dark (2000), winner of the Grand Prix Breaking the Waves (1996) and multiple prize winner Europa (1991).

    Charlotte Gainsbourg (I’m Not There; 21 Grams) and Willem Dafoe (Spider-Man; The Dust of Time) star as a grieving couple who retreat to their cabin in the woods, hoping a return to Eden will repair their broken hearts and troubled marriage. But nature takes its course and things go from bad to worse.

    The film is produced by Meta Louise Foldager from Zentropa and will be released in Denmark 29. May. Nordic Film Distribution handles the Scandinavian release.

    In addition to these countries, Antichrist is sold to: Norway, Sweden, France, Poland, Spain, Italy, Germany, Greece, Russia, CIS, Czech Republic, Hungary, Bulgaria, Rumania, Estonia, Korea, India, Brazil, Iran, Middle East, Turkey, Belgium, Lithuania, Netherlands, Finland, Austria and Taiwan.

    The film is a Danish co-production with Germany, France, Sweden, Italy and Poland.
